In 1990s Carmarthen, Wales, Liz Evans (Morton), a hairdresser who runs a youth theatre group, sets out to save the beloved Lyric Cinema from demolition. When the council approves plans to transform the site into a shopping centre, Liz decides to occupy the historic building herself before enlisting the help of a famous Hollywood film-maker to secure the Lyric's future.
