Dawdling through the Dollops

Angela Forrest, Chair of the Monks Eleigh Village Hall committee embarked on the May monthly village walk with friends and fellow walkers. The walk took them on a circuit in and around the village of Polstead, taking in several woods and rambling paths. May is a great time to enjoy the bluebell woods all around Suffolk.

The group is pictured here in what is known as Dollops Wood, These village walks take place on the first Wednesday of every month with the walking group based in Monks Eleigh. The Dollops Wood walk is a gentle 4.5 mile walk, where you can take in the beautiful surroundings as you meander thought the countryside. This month's walk finished off with coffee at the Polstead Community Shop.

During April and May there is a wonderful display of bluebells and wood anemones, lambs in the fields, badger setts and delightful views across the valley.
